Happy Halloween Season! These are some of our favorite activities we have ever done! We do a big Halloween party every year and it’s getting bigger each time. We’re at 5 years and I’m a little nervous we’re going to need to find somewhere else to have it! I hope you find that your family loves some of these too.
- Glue Watercolor Spiderweb
- Things you need:
- Elmers Glue
- Glitter
- Paper
- Water
- Watercolors
- Paintbrush
- Things you need:

The kids were nervous their spiderwebs wouldn’t work perfectly so I drew them onto their papers with a pencil. They copied over the lines with glue.
We poured the glitter all over the page and dumped the rest onto another paper or into the trash.
After it dried for a day we pulled out the watercolors and let them go wild! One wanted lots of color and one wanted it white!

- Pom Pom Pipecleaner Spider
- Items Needed
- 4 black pipecleaners
- Hot Glue
- Hot Glue Gun
- 2 Googly Eyes
- Items Needed
These would be so cute on top of the spider webs! Cross 4 pipe cleaners in the center. To avoid hot glue you could wrap the pipe cleaners around each other and only use hot glue to put the pom pom on top. If you are ok with hot glue but a glob in the middle on the top, wait for it to dry and turn it over. Put another glob on that side. After it dries put the pom pom on top and hot glue it to the center. Add the googly eyes however you would like!

Bend and cut the legs to the length you want!
- Creepy Cemetery Brownies
- Gummy worms
- Brownies
- Graham Crackers
- Black Frosting
- Crushed oreos
This is the easiest dessert to make for the kiddos! Layer the brownies, oreos and gummy worms in a 9×9 or 9×13. Break the graham crackers into the four sections and write RIP on them! Shove the graham crackers in and voila! You’re done!

- Blacklight Coloring
- Items needed:
- Blacklight
- White Butcher Paper or Copy Paper
- Highlighters or any Neon Writing Utensils
- a Dark Room
- Items needed:
Put the paper down and turn the black light on and let the kids go to town! They are the ones that get to put in the work on this one! Honestly – I had fun with it too though!

- Qtip Skeletons
- Items needed:
- Q tips
- Construction paper
- Glue
- Paper for the skull if you want it
- Items needed:

- Glow Stick Shields
- Items needed
- Necklace Glow Sticks
- Camera (I used my phone)
- Items needed
You have the kids spin glow sticks in a circle really fast and take a few pictures. For this one we connected two necklaces to do it! Some of them connected up to SIX in a row to make it huge. That kid was six feet tall so some of the smaller kids couldn’t do it! They could only handle two.

- Black Light Laser Course
- Items Needed:
- Crepe Paper/Streamers
- Tape
- Items Needed:
If you’re already using the black light then you hang streamers all over the room and let the kids try and get from one side to the other without touching or breaking any of them.

- Dia de Los Muertos
- Items needed:
- Anything colorful
- Carnations if you want
- Pictures of deceased family members
- Candles
- Facepaint
- Items needed:
Arrange a fun table to remember those who have come before you! We put their favorite things on the table as an homage to them.

- Spooky Almond Halloween Sugar Cookies
- Ingredients
- 1/2 c unsalted butter
- 1 c granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2 3/4 c all purpose flour
- purple & orange food coloring gel
- 2 tsp almond extract
- Ingredients
Instructions: cream together the butter and sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla and almond extract. Then add salt and baking powder. Add in flour. Separate dough into two. Mix food colorings into each half and roll out between waxed paper into a rectangle. Put into fridge and do the same with the other color. Bring them out and place one dough sheet onto the other. Roll the dough together. It will make a log of dough. Put sprinkles into a cookie sheet and roll the log into the sprinkes until the edges are covered. Cut the log into 1/4 inch sections. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes (I like them softer so I do 8-9 minutes).
Our family is divided – half of us like sprinkles on these and half like them plain!

10. Write & Read a Silly Story by Flashlight
- Items Needed
- Books
- Flashlight
- Night time 🙂

11. We haven’t done this one yet but I really really want to! To make your very own glowing ghost painting you will need a few items.
Items needed:
- Glow in the dark paint
- Toilet Paper
- Canvas
- Black Paint
- Paint Brush (or finger paint-however messy you feel like being!)

Paint the canvas completely black. Then mix your ripped toilet paper pieces with the glow in the dark paint and glue, then put bits and pieces onto the canvas in the shapes of cute ghosts! You’ve got your glow in the dark ghosts! (If you click the image it will take you to the video with the directions on it!)
While some of these feel very simple, they make the season! Kids fall in love with traditions and live for them. Let’s fill these little hearts and give them a season to remember.
